There are two big golf centres reasonably close to Bromley: Addington Court and Orpington Golf Centre. They both have several courses, so plenty of variety for your 36 holes, and the courses should suit beginners. They are both operated as pay and play, and should be good value for money.

Beckenham Place Park is also close by and has an interesting 18 hole course in lovely park surrounds. It’s also good value and suitable for golfers of all levels of ability.

I’m looking to do a 36 holes golf day for 4 people on Saturday 7th august, course needs to be under an hour from Bromley, Kent, all plays just taken up golf so not very good, and ideas – 07988855512

I haven’t been there for at least a year or two. The pitch and putt course at Gunnersbury Park is operated by a company called golfwise. You could try contacting them. See http://www.golfwise.org.uk

Last year we visited the Gunnesbury Park Pitch n Putt course, which was becoming very run down, and was in danger of closing. This year we have been unable to find out whether it is still operating or not. Can you help?

Golf simulators can be played indoors and outdoors. Sports Coach Systems offer outdoor inflatable golf simulators for hire.

Actually my friend walked through DS earlier this week and saw the mini/crazy golf couse set up. It’s also being advertised on the DS website.

Peter – I reckon you’ve made a good start with those DVDs, John Jacobs must be about the most respected teacher golf has ever had, and one of the most influential people in European golf.

As far as I’m aware, Mr Jacobs is alive and kicking. You may not have heard much about him recently, but that’s not surprising as he must be around 85 now.

Ringing the City Limits Gold phone number says that they will open on April the 1st 2011 ?! I hope they meant 2010 !
